Neuroinflammatory response
Neuroinflammatory response is the brain and nervous system's way of reacting to injury, infection, or harmful substances. When these issues occur, immune cells in the brain activate to protect and repair neural tissues, releasing chemicals that can cause inflammation. While this response helps fight illness and heal damage, excessive or chronic neuroinflammation can contribute to neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s or multiple sclerosis. It’s a delicate balance: inflammation is essential for defense and recovery, but ongoing or uncontrolled inflammation can harm healthy brain cells and impair function.
