Neural adaptation

Neural adaptation is the process by which our nervous system becomes less responsive to constant or repeated stimuli over time. For example, when you wear a watch or rings, you might initially notice them pressing against your skin, but after a while, you stop noticing the sensation. Your nerves and brain adjust to ongoing stimuli, reducing their response to prevent overload and allow you to focus on new or changing inputs. This process helps our sensory systems conserve energy and avoid becoming overwhelmed by persistent stimuli while remaining alert to new or important changes in our environment.
