Nestorians
Nestorians were followers of Nestorius, a 5th-century Christian bishop who emphasized a distinction between Jesus' divine and human natures. They believed Jesus was a combination of two separate persons—God and man—rather than a single unified being. This view led to the formation of the Church of the East, often called the Nestorian Church, which spread across Persia and Asia. Their beliefs differed from mainstream Christian doctrines, which emphasized the unity of Christ's natures. The term "Nestorian" is sometimes considered pejorative, but it remains a historical reference to these theological distinctions and the church they formed.
