Nestor (astronomical object)
Nestor is a very small asteroid with a highly elongated shape, classified as a Mars Trojan because it shares its orbit with Mars, located near the L4 point ahead of the planet. Discovered in 2001, it is thought to be a primitive, rocky body, possibly a fragment from a larger asteroid. Its orbit is stable over long periods, making it a valuable object for studying early solar system materials and planetary evolution. Nestor's unique position and characteristics help scientists understand small body dynamics, resonance phenomena, and the formation history of our solar system.
