NEPA (Nigerian Electric Power Authority)
The Nigerian Electric Power Authority (NEPA), now known as Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), was the government agency responsible for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution across Nigeria. It managed the infrastructure needed to produce and deliver electricity to homes, businesses, and industries. NEPA aimed to ensure reliable power supply but faced challenges like inefficiency and power shortages. Today, Nigeria’s power sector is undergoing reforms to improve efficiency, diversify energy sources, and attract private investment, with the goal of providing consistent and affordable electricity nationwide.
