Neoplatonic Academy

The Neoplatonic Academy was an intellectual community founded in the 3rd century CE by Plotinus, aimed at exploring and understanding the nature of reality, existence, and the divine. Influenced by Plato's philosophy, it emphasized the idea of a single, ultimate source of all things—often called 'The One'—from which everything else emanates. Members engaged in philosophical discussions, spiritual reflection, and seeking union with the divine through contemplation. This Academy helped shape later medieval Christian, Jewish, and Islamic thought by blending Plato's ideas with new metaphysical insights.
