Neonatal Acne
Neonatal acne is a common skin condition in newborns, appearing typically within the first few weeks of life. It manifests as small red or white bumps on the face, particularly on the cheeks, nose, and forehead. This condition is caused by the activation of the baby's oil glands, often influenced by hormones from the mother. Neonatal acne usually resolves on its own within a few months without treatment, and it does not usually cause discomfort to the baby. However, if the condition persists or worsens, consulting a pediatrician is advisable for further evaluation.
