Neon (element)
Neon is a noble gas, meaning it is very stable and rarely reacts with other elements. It is colorless, odorless, and inert at room temperature. Neon is most famous for its bright, reddish-orange glow when electrified, making it popular in neon signs used in advertising and artistic displays. The glow occurs because electrons in neon atoms get excited by electricity and release light as they return to normal. Neon is naturally found in the Earth's atmosphere in tiny amounts, and it is extracted through a process called liquefaction and distillation of air.
