Neon

Neon is a noble gas, meaning it’s a very stable, inert element that doesn’t usually react with other substances. It’s best known for its bright, reddish-orange glow when electric current passes through it, which makes neon popular for signs and lighting. Neon atoms emit light at specific wavelengths, producing distinct colors used in advertising and art. Because it’s colorless and odorless in its natural form, we mostly encounter neon in illuminated signs. It’s extracted from air and is one of the rare gases used in lighting due to its striking, long-lasting illumination.
