Neo-Realism
Neorealism, also known as structural realism, is a theory in international relations that emphasizes the anarchic nature of the international system, where no central authority exists. It argues that states are primarily motivated by the desire to ensure their own security and survival. Because the system is unstable and unpredictable, countries tend to focus on maintaining power and balance rather than pursuing global cooperation or moral goals. Neorealism shifts the focus from individual leaders or specific policies to the overall structure of international politics, explaining state behavior as driven by the distribution of power in the system.
