Neo-Platonism
Neo-Platonism is a philosophical system from the 3rd century CE that builds on Plato's ideas. It suggests that there is a single, divine source called "the One," which is perfect and beyond human understanding. From this source, everything else emerges through a process of emanation, including the divine mind, the soul, and the physical universe. Neo-Platonists believe that human spiritual development involves recognizing our connection to this divine source and striving to return to it through contemplation and virtue. The philosophy emphasizes the unity of all existence and the importance of spiritual ascent.
