Neo-Luddism
Neo-Luddism is a modern movement that questions and often opposes the rapid adoption of new technologies, arguing they can harm social values, privacy, and the environment. Inspired by 19th-century industrial workers called Luddites, who destroyed machines they believed threatened their jobs, Neo-Luddites advocate for cautious integration of technology, emphasizing the importance of human-centered and sustainable approaches. They are concerned that technological advances can lead to increased inequality, loss of privacy, and decreased human connection, and they call for more critical evaluation of technology's societal impacts rather than unrestrained adoption.
