Neo-colonialism
Neo-colonialism refers to the indirect control and influence that wealthy countries or multinational corporations maintain over poorer nations, even after formal colonial rule has ended. Instead of direct political domination, this is achieved through economic means such as controlling resources, trade, investments, and financial systems. It allows powerful countries to shape policies and economies of weaker nations, often benefiting their own interests while limiting the development and independence of the local populations. In essence, neo-colonialism sustains unequal relationships, maintaining a form of dominance that inhibits local self-sufficiency and sovereignty.
