Neo-Assyrians

The Neo-Assyrians were a powerful ancient civilization that thrived in northern Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq) from around 911 to 612 BCE. They are known for their military prowess, creating one of the world's first large empires through skilled warfare and conquest. They advanced in areas like administration, architecture, and art, building impressive cities and monumental sculptures. Their empire included much of the Near East, and they are remembered both for their impressive achievements and their often brutal methods of control. The Neo-Assyrian period marked a significant phase of Mesopotamian history, leaving a lasting impact on subsequent civilizations.
