Nelson's Column

Nelson's Column is a tall monument in London, built to honor Admiral Lord Nelson, a famous British naval hero. It stands about 170 feet (52 meters) high and features a 17-foot (5.2-meter) sculpture of Nelson himself at the top. The column is made of granite and granite-like materials, with a spiral staircase inside that visitors can climb to enjoy views of the city. The monument is surrounded by four stone lions at its base and is located in Trafalgar Square, a central public space. It serves as a symbol of British naval strength and commemorates Nelson's leadership and victory in the Battle of Trafalgar.
