Necker
A Necker cube is an optical illusion featuring a wireframe cube that can be perceived in two different ways. When you look at it, your brain alternates between seeing it as if you're viewing the front face from above or from below, causing the cube’s orientation to flip back and forth. This ambiguity arises because the visual information is equally consistent with multiple interpretations, highlighting how our perception actively constructs three-dimensional understanding from two-dimensional images. The Necker cube demonstrates the ways perception can be flexible and influenced by cognitive processes, rather than purely by the physical image itself.
