NCVS (National Crime Victimization Survey)
The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) is a research program conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Justice Statistics that gathers information directly from individuals about their personal experiences with crime. It measures crimes such as theft, assault, and robbery, including those that may not have been reported to police. Through interviews with a representative sample of households, the NCVS provides detailed data on crime prevalence, characteristics, and the impact on victims, helping policymakers and law enforcement understand crime patterns and improve prevention strategies.
