NCS (Natural Color System)

The Natural Color System (NCS) is a way to describe and categorize colors based on human perception. It organizes colors by six basic qualities: blackness, whiteness, and four hues (yellow, red, blue, green). Any color can be precisely identified by specifying how much of these qualities it contains. This system helps designers, manufacturers, and artists communicate about colors consistently, ensuring everyone understands the exact shade being referenced. Think of it as a detailed “color language” that reflects how humans see and differentiate colors naturally.
