NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement)
The National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) is New Zealand’s main qualification for senior secondary students. It assesses students through internal (school-based) and external (exam-based) standards across various subjects like math, science, and arts. Students earn credits for completing these standards, and accumulating enough credits at different levels (Level 1, 2, or 3) leads to their NCEA qualification, which is recognized nationally and internationally. The system offers flexibility, allowing students to tailor their learning paths and focus on areas of interest or strength, preparing them for further education, employment, or training.
