NC (Numerical Control)

Numerical Control (NC) refers to the automation of machine tools using programmed instructions expressed through numbers and symbols. These instructions guide machines such as lathes, milling machines, or drills to perform precise operations like cutting, shaping, or drilling materials. NC systems enhance accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency by eliminating manual adjustments. Originally developed with punched tape or cards, modern NC has evolved into Computer Numerical Control (CNC), where computer software controls the machinery, enabling complex and highly precise manufacturing processes with minimal human intervention.
