Naturopathic medical education
Naturopathic medical education combines scientific and traditional healing principles to prepare practitioners to treat the whole person—body, mind, and lifestyle. Students complete undergraduate prerequisites, then attend a four-year advanced program at accredited naturopathic medical colleges. The curriculum includes subjects like physiology, nutrition, herbal medicine, acupuncture, clinical diagnostics, and patient care. Clinical training involves hands-on experience under supervision. Graduates must pass licensing exams to become licensed naturopathic doctors (NDs), enabling them to provide evidence-based, holistic healthcare that complements or integrates with conventional medicine.
