Natural pearls

Natural pearls are formed inside certain mollusks, like oysters and mussels, without human intervention. When a tiny irritant such as a parasite or a grain of sand enters the mollusk, the animal secretes layers of a substance called nacre around it to protect itself. Over many years, these layers build up into a smooth, shiny pearl. Natural pearls are rare because this process happens unpredictably, often requiring years to develop. They have unique, organic beauty and are highly valued for their rarity and natural formation.
