Natural Orifice Transluminal Surgery (NOTES)

Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES) is a minimally invasive surgical technique that uses the body's natural openings—like the mouth, vagina, or anus—to access internal organs, avoiding external incisions. A thin, flexible tube with a camera and surgical tools is inserted through these natural passages to perform procedures such as removing organs or repairing tissues. This approach aims to reduce pain, scarring, and recovery time compared to traditional surgery. Although still being developed and studied, NOTES represents an innovative step toward less invasive surgical options.
