Natural gas technology

Natural gas technology involves extracting, processing, and utilizing natural gas—primarily methane—for energy. It’s pumped from underground reservoirs and cleaned to remove impurities. The cleaned gas is then distributed through pipelines to generate electricity, heat homes, and fuel industries. Innovations include enhanced extraction methods like hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and developments in liquefied natural gas (LNG) that enable transportation across oceans. Natural gas is valued for being a cleaner-burning fossil fuel, producing fewer carbon emissions compared to coal and oil, and plays a significant role in transitioning toward cleaner energy sources while maintaining reliable power supply.
