Natural draft cooling tower

A natural draft cooling tower is a structure that cools water used in industrial processes, primarily power plants, by using natural airflow rather than fans. Warm water from the plant rises inside the tower, creating a difference in air temperature and density, which causes cooler air from outside to be drawn in at the bottom. This airflow carries away the heat from the water, cooling it down so it can be reused. The tower’s shape, often hyperbolic, enhances this natural airflow, making it an efficient, energy-saving way to dissipate heat without mechanical fans.
