Nationalism vs Patriotism Debate

Nationalism and patriotism both involve love for one's country, but they differ in tone and implications. Patriotism is a positive, inclusive pride in one’s nation, emphasizing loyalty, cultural appreciation, and support without arrogance. Nationalism, however, often involves strong, sometimes aggressive, belief that one's country is superior to others, risking intolerance or exclusion. While patriotism fosters unity and respect, nationalism can lead to conflict or intolerance. The debate centers on whether pride should be humble and inclusive (patriotism) or assertive and exclusive (nationalism).
