National Youth Administration (NYA)

The National Youth Administration (NYA) was a New Deal agency active from 1935 to 1943 that aimed to provide work, education, and training opportunities for young Americans aged 16-25 during the Great Depression. It supported jobs in community service, conservation, and public works, while also offering vocational training and scholarships to help youth develop skills for future employment. The NYA sought to reduce unemployment among young people, promote personal development, and prepare them for productive careers, playing a key role in fostering their economic stability and social well-being during challenging economic times.
