National Wildlife Disease Program

The National Wildlife Disease Program is a coordinated effort to monitor, study, and manage diseases that affect wild animals. Its goal is to protect the health of wildlife populations, which in turn supports healthy ecosystems, agriculture, and human health. The program conducts research, surveillance, and disease response activities, working with partners across government agencies, researchers, and conservation groups to detect and control diseases early, preventing outbreaks that could harm wildlife, livestock, or people.
