National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme

The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) is a government initiative in India aimed at preventing and controlling diseases transmitted by vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks, including malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and Japanese encephalitis. It focuses on activities like surveillance, early diagnosis, treatment, public awareness, and vector control measures such as insecticide spraying and eliminating breeding sites. The program works across states and districts to reduce the health impact of these diseases, improve early detection, and promote community participation to create healthier environments and prevent outbreaks.
