National Transport and Safety Authority
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a government agency responsible for regulating and overseeing road transportation in Kenya. Its main goals are to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transport services, enforce traffic laws, license drivers and vehicles, and promote safety awareness. NTSA also develops policies to improve transportation systems, reduce accidents, and ensure compliance with standards across buses, matatus, trucks, and other vehicles. By doing so, it helps create a safer environment for all road users and supports the country’s mobility and economic development.
