National Transitional Government of Liberia
The National Transitional Government of Liberia (NTGL) was a temporary governing body established in 2003 to help restore peace and stability after Liberia’s long civil war. It was composed of various political parties, factions, and civil society groups, working together to rebuild the country's governance, hold elections, and promote reconciliation. The NTGL’s main goal was to create a stable foundation for Liberia’s return to civilian rule, manage peace processes, and begin national reconstruction, leading to democratic elections in 2005.
