National Resistance Movement
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is a political organization in Uganda that was originally formed as a rebel group in the 1980s to oppose the government. Led by President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM has evolved into the country’s ruling party, establishing a dominant political presence. It focuses on stabilizing the nation, promoting development, and maintaining power through elections and governance. While credited with ending previous conflicts and fostering economic growth, the NRM's long tenure has also raised concerns about political openness and democratic practices in Uganda.
