National Resistance Army (NRA)

The National Resistance Army (NRA) was a rebel group in Uganda formed in 1981 to oppose the government of President Milton Obote. Led by Yoweri Museveni, the NRA fought to restore democratic rule and address issues like corruption and inequality. They engaged in guerrilla warfare, primarily operating in rural areas, and eventually succeeded in overthrowing Obote's government in 1986. The NRA later transitioned into Uganda's national army under Museveni’s leadership, playing a key role in stabilizing the country and shaping its current political landscape.
