National Recovery Administration

The National Recovery Administration (NRA) was a U.S. government agency created during the Great Depression in 1933 to help stimulate economic recovery. It established fair business practices, set standards for wages and hours, and promoted fair competition to stabilize industries, especially manufacturing and retail. The NRA aimed to boost consumer confidence and reduce unemployment by encouraging businesses to work together within these guidelines. However, it was later declared unconstitutional in 1935 and discontinued. Overall, it was an early attempt by the government to coordinate economic recovery through industry regulation.
