National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB)

The National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) was a UK organization responsible for providing advice and guidance on radiation protection to ensure the safety of people and the environment. It assessed risks from exposure to ionizing radiation, such as medical X-rays, nuclear accidents, and environmental sources. The NRPB helped develop standards, lower exposure hazards, and promote best practices. In 2005, it merged with other agencies to form the Health Protection Agency, and later, its functions are now part of the UK's Public Health England. Its work helped minimize health risks associated with radiation exposure.
