National People's Congress (China)

The National People's Congress (NPC) is China's highest legislative authority, responsible for making and amending laws, overseeing the government, and representing the interests of the Chinese people. It consists of thousands of delegates elected from across the country, convening annually to pass significant policies, approve the national budget, and approve major leadership appointments. While it is a formal decision-making body, in practice, it often endorses decisions made by the Communist Party leadership, serving as a legislative platform for implementing government policies.
