National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN)

The National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN), now called BharatNet, is a government project in India aimed at connecting rural and remote areas with high-speed internet using optical fiber cables. By installing these cables, it provides fast, reliable internet access, enabling better communication, education, healthcare, and government services. The goal is to bridge the digital divide, improve infrastructure, and promote development in underserved regions. Essentially, NOFN/BharatNet creates a nationwide digital backbone that helps bring modern connectivity to every corner of the country.
