National Offender Management Service (NOMS)
The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) was a UK government agency responsible for overseeing the management of offenders in prisons, probation services, and rehabilitation programs. It aimed to reduce re-offending through effective supervision, rehabilitation, and ensuring safety within correctional facilities. NOMS coordinated efforts between courts, prisons, and community services to support offenders’ rehabilitation and protect the public. In 2017, NOMS was integrated into Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), which now directly manages these functions within the UK's criminal justice framework.
