National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC)

The National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC) was an Australian body responsible for developing policies and standards to protect workers’ health and safety across the country. It coordinated efforts between government, industry, and unions to create guidelines that prevent work-related injuries and illnesses. While NOHSC itself was disbanded in 2009, its functions and responsibilities continue through Safe Work Australia, which now oversees national workplace health and safety policies. Essentially, NOHSC was a key entity dedicated to promoting safe working environments nationwide.
