National Military Union (Narodowe Siły Zbrojne)

The National Military Union (Narodowe Siły Zbrojne, NSZ) was a Polish resistance organization active during World War II, primarily fighting against both Nazi Germany and Soviet forces after Germany's invasion of Poland in 1939. Comprising nationalists who aimed to restore Poland’s independence, the NSZ engaged in guerrilla warfare and held strong nationalist and anti-communist views. While they fought against occupying forces, their complex history includes elements of controversial nationalism, and some factions have been linked to limited involvement in wartime violence. Their goal was to defend Poland’s sovereignty and restore its independence amid occupation and upheaval.
