National Liberation Front (EAM)
The National Liberation Front (EAM) was a major Greek resistance organization formed during World War II to oppose Axis occupation and fight for independence. It was a leftist, multi-ethnic movement primarily composed of Greek resistance groups, advocating for national sovereignty and social change. EAM coordinated underground activities, including guerrilla warfare, and aimed to establish a post-war government aligned with socialist principles. After the war, its military wing, the Greek People's Liberation Army (ELAS), became involved in the Greek Civil War. EAM played a significant role in Greek history, representing struggles against occupation and for political transformation.
