
National Executive Council (Papua New Guinea)
The National Executive Council (NEC) of Papua New Guinea is the country’s main decision-making body responsible for advising the government and implementing policies. It comprises senior government ministers, including the Prime Minister, and oversees the day-to-day administration of the government. The NEC sets strategic priorities, approves budgets, and ensures laws and policies are effectively put into practice. It operates within the framework of the Constitution and consists of members appointed by the Prime Minister, acting as the core team to govern the country efficiently and coordinate efforts across various government departments.
