National Electric Power Authority (NEPA)
The National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) was Nigeria's government-owned organization responsible for generating, transmitting, and distributing electricity nationwide. Its goal was to ensure reliable power supply for homes, businesses, and industries. Over time, NEPA's operations faced challenges like frequent outages and infrastructure issues, leading to efforts for reform and privatization. Today, NEPA has been replaced by more modern entities like the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), evolving into the current power sector institutions aimed at improving electricity services across Nigeria.
