National Council of States

The National Council of States (NCoS) is a legislative body within Nigeria's government, serving as the upper house of the National Assembly. It comprises representatives from each Nigerian state, elected to represent their regions. Its primary role is to review, amend, and approve laws proposed by the lower house (the House of Representatives), ensuring balanced regional interests in national legislation. The NCoS also participates in matters such as budget approval, constitutional amendments, and oversight of the executive branch, fostering regional representation and collaboration in Nigeria's federal system.
