National Commission on Forensic Science (NCFS)
The National Commission on Forensic Science (NCFS) was a U.S. federal advisory body established to improve the quality and consistency of forensic science used in criminal justice. It brought together experts from science, law enforcement, and the legal system to develop standards, best practices, and policies for forensic laboratories and practitioners. The goal was to ensure forensic evidence is reliable, credible, and used appropriately in investigations and court cases. Though it was active until 2017, its work contributed to strengthening forensic science standards nationwide.
