National Commission for Nomadic Education
The National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE) was an organization in Nigeria established in 1989 to address the educational needs of nomadic and semi-nomadic populations, such as herders and traders, who often face unique challenges in accessing formal education. Its goal was to develop tailored educational programs, materials, and policies that accommodate their mobile lifestyles, ensuring equitable learning opportunities. By doing so, NCNE aimed to integrate these communities into the national education system, promote literacy, and improve their socio-economic conditions while respecting their cultural practices.
