National Children's Study
The National Children's Study was a large-scale research initiative by the U.S. government aimed at understanding how environmental and genetic factors influence children's health and development. It involved tracking thousands of children from pregnancy onward to identify what impacts their well-being, such as exposure to pollutants, nutrition, and social factors. The goal was to inform policies and practices that promote healthier children and reduce disease risk. Although the study was significant in scope, it faced challenges and was ultimately discontinued in 2014. Its findings continue to inform research on child health and development.
