National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion

The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) is a part of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Its mission is to improve health outcomes by preventing and controlling chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. It develops and supports programs, policies, and research to promote healthy behaviors—such as healthy eating, physical activity, and smoking cessation—and to reduce health disparities. Ultimately, NCCDPHP works to help people live healthier lives and reduce the burden of chronic illnesses across the U.S.
