National Brotherhood of Skiers

The National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within the sport of skiing and snowboarding. Founded in 1973, it provides a supportive community and opportunities for people of color to experience winter sports, which have historically had low participation from these groups. NBS organizes group trips, events, and training to foster friendship, skill development, and leadership. Its goal is to make outdoor winter activities accessible, enjoyable, and welcoming for everyone, while celebrating cultural heritage and encouraging representation in the skiing community.
