National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA)

The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) was a U.S. government agency established in 1915 to study and improve aviation technology. Its focus was on understanding aerodynamics, aircraft design, and propulsion to promote safer, more efficient flight. NACA conducted research through wind tunnel testing and experimental aircraft, producing valuable scientific data. In 1958, NACA was replaced by NASA, which expanded the focus to space exploration. Many of NACA’s innovations and research methods laid the groundwork for modern aerospace advancements.
